Here are a few pics of the dogs from Afghanistan that Pilots N Paws assisted in bringing back to the US and reuniting them with their soldiers over the years. Some were military working dogs, others were adopted and cared for by our soldiers while deployed. You might remember that our Navy seals rescued an injured Steppe Eagle while watching it being shot at in Afghanistan. Barbara Chepaitis wrote a book about this experience. “Mitch” is now safe and lives in a bird sanctuary and his best friend is an American Eagle—poignant. Perhaps we should learn by example from the eagles?
